is to create a world where every child has the tools they need to thrive emotionally and build a more compassionate future for all.

Our Mission

is to empower communities and schools to cultivate skills in self-awareness and self-compassion, fostering resilience and emotional regulation among children and adolescents.

About Us

We believe that every child can be their own best friend

The Friend In Me isn't just our name—it's our mission to help children discover the power of self-compassion. By cultivating an inner voice that says, "You've got this," we empower kids to face life's challenges with resilience and kindness.

Our Story

The Origin of The Friend In Me

After the success of The Self-Compassion Workbook for Kids, we set out to bring the gift of self-compassion to even more children. We envisioned a solution that combined education with the power of technology. To test our concept, we partnered with a local school in San Diego. In one of our early trials, a student who struggled to share their emotions was finally able to express feelings they’d never put into words before. That moment reaffirmed the transformative potential of blending heartfelt education with cutting-edge technology. This innovative combination became the foundation of the Friend In Me.

Right now, our youth are facing a mental health crisis that is unprecedented. This increases their risk for psychological distress and disorders and is dimming their future.

In response to this growing crisis, our strategy focuses on equipping kids with resilience and self-compassion tools to help them navigate challenges before they arise.

Our Strategy

Proactively building life skills in self-awareness and self-compassion to prepare pre-teens to navigate the challenges of adolescence.

Self-compassion empowers kids to weather life's challenges with emotional strength and adaptability. Like trees that bend in the wind but don’t break, self-compassion helps children grow stronger, firmly grounded, and more resilient through life’s storms.
